My Low Carb Diet and Fast Weight Loss - Weeks #7 & #8

I did really well during these weeks. A low carb diet and fast weight loss can be a real challenge if you want to have any kind of social life. I found myself hosting a couple of parties, but I was able to find a few munchies that worked for my diet. Shrimp & chicken skewers always work well. My husband and I never end up eating dinner after a party where they serve “heavy” hors devours, so I didn’t have to worry about the extra calories since the skewers would be my dinner.
I just stuck with diet coke on both occasions. Since I have really cut back on my diet coke consumption, these couple of diet cokes were a real taste treat.
My friends are really getting tired of me telling them no to lunch so I started to go out to lunch again. I find that the restaurants in town are really accommodating to my diet. I can get lettuce and tomato with a grilled chicken breast almost anywhere. Some will even weigh it for me. They have wonderful fish here and a grilled fish sandwich (without the bun) is also a great option. I’m also starting to use the diet sodas like treats so I usually don’t allow myself to drink them while I’m eating.
During these weeks I got a little bored with just mustard and hot sauce, so I started to browse the local grocery stores for other no carb/calorie sauces. I’m still on the hunt!
Bottom line - I guess a low carb diet and fast weight loss can tolerate a little social interaction. I lost another 11 pounds in this two week period, just proving that you don’t have to give up your social life and friends while dieting with Kimkins.
