Weeks 3 & 4 of My Kimkins Diet Plan

So far, I hadn’t posted anything on the Kimkins forum, a little shy I guess. But everyday I would scour it for more low carb diet information. Everyone was talking about the Boot Camp program that Kimmer put together for someone who really wanted to lose weight fast. This person lost 100 lbs in 5 months – I guess it helped!!!!!

Kimkins Boot Camp – Should I or Shouldn’t I?

The voluntary Boot Camp is a two week program that includes 30 minutes of cardio exercise each day. Now they say that you can break up the 30 minutes into at least a couple of 15 minutes blocks. So I say – how hard can it be?

The eating plan was slightly modified and a lot more controlled. Still, I wasn’t hungry and it was nice to have some green vegetables. I had no problem following the diet menu plan at all, and made it through the whole two week period without any cheating. In fact, I hadn’t cheated on plan at all – not even once!

Don’t think I stayed home every night either. My husband and I ate out at least twice a week and, so far, I’ve made smart choices whenever out. In fact, this is the only time I allowed myself a beloved Diet Coke.

Boot Camp – Sort of!

I can’t pat myself on the back for the exercise portion though. I think I went walking once during this two-week period. The lack of exercise is why I don’t think I made my Boot Camp goal of losing 10 lbs. during this two week period. I have no excuse – I just didn’t do it.

Kimkins touts that you can lose weight on the program with no exercise, and you really can. I proved that. But you will most likely lose more weight when you are exercising. Perhaps I’ll try another Boot Camp soon and see if it doesn’t make a difference.

Breaking Through a Plateau (or a Stall)

What I did find during the Boot Camp is that I stopped losing weight for a few days. No cheating, no changes in my diet, no nothing – including lost pounds. I noticed a forum topic about the practice of Fasting, so I checked it out. I decided to try this little secret to see if that would help me break my “stall”. After about 48 hours, I was down almost three pounds and able to get going again.

In my next post, I will tell you a little bit about the benefits of having support during your weight loss experience…
