With Weight Loss Programs, It Can Be the Little Things That Count Most

Now that I was committing myself to yet another diet, I felt a new sense of purpose. But the question was would I be able to maintain my motivation to lose weight, and I’m talking in a significant way!
But sometimes it can be the smallest of things that make the biggest difference in maintaining your diet discipline. In my case, it was a small bracelet. I climbed out of bed that same night and, for some stupid reason, went searching in the closet (at 2:00 a.m.) for a little gold bracelet that my sister-in-law gave to me and each of her bridesmaids. I located it and became even more determined to wear that bracelet until I reached my weight loss goal, just to remind me of my sister-in-law’s weight loss success and how badly I wanted my own.
Unfortunately, it took me 4 or 5 tries to get the thing fastened around my wrist because it was really too tight. Note: I am proud to say that I now have at least an inch excess and the bracelet is loose.
With my “new” bracelet tightly clasped around my wrist, I went into the den and sat at my laptop and started to research the fastest way to lose weight. I had already tried Adkins, South Beach, Jenny Craig, Optifast, Quick Weight Loss Clinic, Weight Watchers (meetings and online), 3-Day Diet, Juice Fasting and at least a couple of others I can’t even remember! I started to wonder if there were any diets left that I hadn’t tried?
I somehow got onto the Kimkins website – can’t remember what I searched or how I found it. I liked the fact that it was pay one-time and not a monthly fee like so many of the other diet programs. Because I liked what I read and I can be impulsive at times, I got out my credit card and purchased the membership for the Kimkins low carb diet plan. On that same night, I bought a home computer version of FitDay software for tracking the diet process and my weight loss progress (positive thinking at its best) .
I started my diet that same day – April 1, 2007 – April Fools Day, but I wasn’t joking around.
Today is May 15, 2007 and I’ve already lost weight to the tune of 40 lbs.
So, stay tuned and I’ll be describing the trials and tribulations of my first six weeks on the Kimkin diet plan. After that, you can follow my ups and downs on a live basis as I move closer and closer to my weight loss goal. By the way, I am working hard to reach my goal by this October.
