Does Drinking and Dieting Mix on the Kimkins Diet Plan?

They were discussing alcohol on one of the Kimkins Diet forums today. Some think it is OK to have just one alcoholic beverage. To be more specific, it was a rum and coke (diet, of course). The general consensus was that if the calories are low, meaning no sugary mixers, and you stick to just one – technically you shouldn’t gain.
Some think just one drink wouldn’t even knock you out of ketosis. I am presently on a power drive to get under 200 by mid-June, so I’m not even thinking about giving this theory a try right now.
Some of the posts did indicate that even one drink might have a big effect on the diet. They worry about losing control and having that one drink leading to another and another. It all really becomes just a control issue at that point.
And, of course, along with drinks usually come snacks – so I guess the whole evening could add up to one HUGE disaster. This is a simple case of the drink not breaking any of the diet rules, but causing a much bigger problem because of that evil thing called “temptation”.
Party Time!
This weekend I went to a dinner party where the main dish was lasagna. Well you can’t even pick around in lasagna. The sauce, if jarred, probably has sugar. The cheese is a no-no and we don’t even have to talk about the noodles. I just told the hostess about my diet, and she was gracious enough to throw a piece of chicken on the grill for me so that I could have it on my salad.
She hadn’t seen me for a few weeks and was really surprised with the results of my diet. I drank diet coke all evening and all went well. The only think I would have done differently is switch to ice water, since I really don’t think I got drank enough water during the day.
Diet “Wisdom”
I found that the Kimkins Diet Plan, like any other, is somewhat of a learning experience and you adjust your habits as you go along. Like I said in another post, certain diet rules, though technically sound, won’t work for everyone. You really need to find your own “special” path within the framework of your chosen diet.
You know what your weaknesses are, so just avoid them rather than convincing yourself that it’s OK because the food or drink doesn’t violate the diet rules. It’s really not worth jeopardizing all of your weight loss progress over a simple decision - just don’t do it!

My Kimkin Diet on Cruise Control - Weeks 7 & 8

More Weight Loss - Weeks #7 & #8
These two weeks went by quickly and smoothly. I didn’t deviate from the Kimkin Diet one iota - ate protein, a few carbs, and lots of water. Dinners out went very smoothly.
I’ve gotten into a bit of a boring routine by cooking most of my dinners on the weekend and sticking them into baggies and then just grabbing them during the week. It takes the scary moments I used to have with standing in front of the open refrigerator trying to decide what to make (and not grabbing a taste or two).
I have gotten into the habit of not eating lunch if I am not hungry (really just common sense at this point) and then eating a regular dinner with maybe a little extra protein. My calories are dipping under 500 a day, depending on which protein I choose. I am avoiding all dairy products, though. Dairy is technically “low carb”, but because they really give me a craving for more, have lots of calories, and for some reason slow down my weight loss, I chose to just avoid them.
Anyway, at the end of 8 weeks on the Kimkin Diet – I’m at 217 or about 42 pounds down. The good news is that we are almost caught up – my next post will be it and then the good old “daily” diet grind stuff.
Just so you know, I passed the 50 pounds mark today (hurray!). Another newsworthy item is that Kimmer of Kimkins was featured in Woman’s World magazine this week, along with two of the Kimkins Diet followers - Christin and Deni. Why not check it out at your local news stand or at the supermarket checkout lane?

The Cost of Quick Weight Loss Diet Plans
June 2nd, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedIf you are like me, you have tried every one of the quick weight loss diet plans on the planet. Some count calories, some count carbs, and others are just derivatives of all the others. They are all packaged up and given a “cute” name and marketed to the masses.
The one really consistent factor about these quick weight loss plans is that they all cost a pretty penny. Almost all of the diet plan marketers have converted to some sort of monthly fee, and some even charge a hefty start-up fee as well.
Is There A Possible Conflict Here?
Well, here’s the rub as I see it! With so many quick weight loss plans earning their revenues from monthly memberships fees, what is their incentive to have us, their trusted dieters, lose all of our weight? None at all!
Because once we have met our weight loss goal, we can usually cancel our membership and go on a maintenance meal plan without the help of the diet program.
But, as the diet promoters view the financial aspects of their program, the slower we lose our weight, the longer we will maintain our memberships and the more revenues they will make from us. Another way to look at it is that their slow weight loss diet process is costing us a fortune!
Kimkins Diet Plan to the Rescue!
Besides Kimkins great track record and highly effective quick weight loss diet plan, the cost to join their program was a TREMENDOUS bargain. They charge a one-time fee ($60 at present) for a LIFETIME membership - no monthly fees or annual fees like so many others. And their membership fee is the lowest I have seen for a major weight loss program. If you want to see a comparison of the costs, check out the below chart and don’t forget to grab on to your wallet or purse:

The Kimkin diet program is really a “deal of a lifetime”. I would be happy to pay their membership fee just to have access to their forums and friendly “challenges”. With all of the support I get from the forum members and motivation from the weight loss “challenges”, this feature alone is priceless in my opinion.
So, if you are tired of getting ripped off by other quick weight loss diet plans, why not check out the Kimkins Diet website and see if you don’t agree that this is one of the best, most affordable weight loss programs around?

The Kimkins Diet is on the Cover of Woman’s World Magazine

Just a short note on a different kind of success at Kimkins. The word is obviously spreading about this successful quick weight loss diet plan, the Kimkin Diet, which is being featured on the cover of the June 12th issue of Woman’s World magazine. This is exciting news!
I hope that this will bring even more motivated dieters into the Kimkin Diet forums as we have a great time supporting and encouraging each other to continue the quick weight loss path.
Two existing Kimkins members are being featured in this Woman’s World issue, Christin and Deni (pictured on the banner to the right). Both have had great successes with the Kimkins diet with Christin losing 100 pounds and Deni losing 60 pounds, a life changing experience for both.
The before and after pictures really tell it all! What a difference it makes and the truth is, they both look noticeably younger after the weight loss. I have noticed that in many of the weight loss before and after pictures. If you get a chance, visit the Kimkins Diet website and take a look for yourself and see if you don’t agree.
