What To Eat on a High Protein Low Carb Diet - or Not!

I found myself struggling a little during this time period. Today, I started back on strict Kimmer Experiment just to get back to the basics. For most of the diet I was able to cook for my husband and even bake cookies and pies. Lately, I’ve wanted to do a little spoon licking and finger dipping (know what I mean, ladies?).
A little sliver of cheese here and there can’t really hurt, can it? Well, I’ve stalled at around 205. I am just so close to my goal of wanting to be under 200 (by June 15). Yet, I seem to be having control issues. I don’t think that I am out of ketosis though.
Like I’ve done a few other times, I have gone into the fridge and pulled out what I seem to be picking at and either had my husband hide it or just throw it out. I am drinking tons of water and have cooked up salmon and turkey burgers so that the fridge door “open” time is minimized.
Bottom Line - I lost another 10 pounds during weeks #9 and #10. Hail Kimkins Diet plan! Well, it may have taken a little while, but we are all caught up to the present. So, going forward, I will be reporting to you in “real” time.
Lesson Learned - Watch What You Eat When You Diet
I did have a noteworthy event last week that I should share with you. We had planned to go out to dinner with friends so I didn’t eat all day. Now, not eating is something that I have done often and I consider it part of my re-training to get my eating habits back on track.
I thought I would get something different (still within guidelines) so I ordered a sausage, pepper and onion sandwich (without the bread) and the side I gave to my husband. Well, I tell you, that sausage was so hot that my stomach hurt for days.
I only ate half of what was on my plate thinking that I could save the rest and use a little bit in eggs etc…, But after a night of gastrointestinal distress (spelled s-t-o-m-a-c-h a-c-h-e), I ditched it into the garbage disposal the next morning.
I know myself, and because it tasted good, I would keep picking at it no matter how it hurt my stomach. I guess my stomach just couldn’t handle all of those spices when it was empty with just ice water. So, what to eat on a high protein low carb diet? Obviously not a hot spicy sausage!
Well, live and learn.
