My First Two Weeks with the Kimkins Diet

For a starter, the Kimkins site provided me with lots and lots of material for reading. I started with the general information, and then got into the forum and started to read all of the entries going back into 2006. It was amazing to read about all these people losing 100 lbs in 5 months and others who were in the middle of their weight loss journey.
But hold on a minute! My first inclination was to wonder; “is Kimkins fake?” Can it be for real? And who is Kimmer of Kimkins fame?
Well, the more I read, the more convinced I was that this was the real deal! As I read on in the forum, a cool feature was that you get to see the individual’s weight loss “tickers”. These tickers are small slide scales that show the individual’s beginning diet weight, where they stand today, and their ultimate target weight.
In most cases, you can find a link to their FitDay Diet Tracker account which let’s you actually see what they are eating from day to day. The Kimkins forum also has sections on fasting and cosmetic surgery.
My Diet Begins (Again)
After reading all I could digest in one night, I began to wonder; what is the secret to the low carb diet? Well, I was about to find out! I decided that night to start with a plan called K/E, or the Kimmer Experiment. In this plan, like in most low carb diets, they let you eat lean protein until you are full. This approach lets you feel satisfied, but with very few carbohydrates actually consumed.
This lean protein / low carb menu helps you get into ketosis as fast as possible. For me it took three days. After that, your appetite drops off considerably and you notice a marked decrease in the volume of protein you are eating. It seemed to be working so far!
