Want to Hear About On Line Weight Loss Programs - Maybe Not!

At first, everyone wants to learn about the on line weight loss programs that you tried and the one that is actually working for you. They even commit to find out more about the Kimkins Diet Plan that has worked so successfully for me. But that’s when the excuses begin - too strict, can’t drink, love pasta, maybe start a week next Tuesday, and the list goes on.
A Fast Weight Loss Can Come with a “Small” Price
I do my best not to flaunt my lost pounds or become “preachy” about dieting. But with successful weight loss, comes a sort of burden I noticed. It seems to come more from my friends that are 40-100+ pounds overweight. Perhaps it’s just human nature, but the more weight you lose, the less support you seem to receive from friends (especially the overweight ones!).
Part of the issue comes from sticking to my diet at social functions when everyone else is eating at will. Of course, I remember that this was me only six months ago, and this was the practice that was one of the root causes of my weight problem in the first place.
That’s All You’re Eating?!
When I go out to eat with my friends, I’m starting to get the heavy sighs when I order, and have to look at their “concerned” faces. Is this low carb diet really healthy for you? You don’t want to get sick, do you (heaven forbid)? Or maybe they are just uncomfortable with the fact that they know they should be eating exactly what I am and losing those unhealthy pounds!
I can tell that some of them change what they were going to order at lunch after they hear what I am ordering – maybe because they feel guilty eating in front of me, or more likely, that they feel guilty ordering “big butt” food, as we call it.
If You Don’t Want to Hear About My Fast Weight Loss, Don’t Ask
If they ask about the on line weight loss programs I have tried, I will tell them my experiences with them. But if they don’t ask, mum’s the word! Most people know what unhealthy habits they need to change, and don’t need to be reminded.
So, as you too experience the satisfaction of quick weight loss, you may also run into this kind of “friendly” pressure. But for me, I just stay focused and am happy losing weight with my effective weight loss diet plan (Kimkins) and just letting them be uncomfortable.
At this point, the alternative is unthinkable!
P.S. - And by the way, I wish I really did look like the woman in the picture in the upper left corner!

How I Began My Low Carb Diet

My name is Katie and I thought that I would share my dieting experience with you. If you are overweight and have gone through the same diet merry-go-round that I have, you will appreciate my story. However, this story is far from over. I am still losing weight with my low carb diet and still have a ways to go to meet my weight loss goal.
So, why not join me in my journey to a “thinner” me? And don’t be shy about leaving your feedback and comments, it makes the experience even more rewarding and fun!
So here’s the start to my weight loss quest:
I suddenly woke up in the middle of the night – I remember the date was March 31, 2007. I just couldn’t sleep. I kept thinking about how overweight I was and how so tired I was of thinking about it and worrying about it all the time.
I laid in bed thinking about my sister-in-law, who had just lost 40 pounds. It took her 8 months and involved workouts at the gym five days a week. It was a slow agonizing process for her, but in the end she did it. She has always been a person with tremendous will power though, and I am sure that was her secret.
As I laid there, I couldn’t help but think about how my mother would brag to me about my sister-in-law’s success. She would tell me how great it was that she was now so slim and how she would work out everyday (my mother likes to exaggerate a bit). I know what she was up too, though. This is her way of shaming me into losing the stupid weight.
But it is my husband that takes the more direct approach. After seeing me agonize through more diets than I can remember (and fail at each), he told me he is taking the “show me” approach before he would get very excited. He was looking for me to show him the “I want it at all costs” attitude that had been missing with all the other diets. Of course, who could blame him. I can get pretty cranky and ornery when I am dieting. I also have been known to vent my frustration with the food cheating and lack of results on him. Poor fella!
But what made the difference this time? I can trace it all back to that one particular night when I had finally decided to take control once and for all. It was that “I want it at all costs” moment for me!

High Protein Low Carb Diet Research Reveals the Low Carb Difference

If you are confused by all the hoopla in the diet circles about the various kinds of diets, you have plenty of company. Even though the different diets seem to seek the same result (whether a low calorie or low carbohydrate diet), there is a significant difference in how they achieve their goal. Scientists that have been performing high protein low carb diet research have discovered that there is a serious difference in the way our bodies respond to the two basic types of dieting (low calorie versus low carb).
What’s the Difference?
A very traditional weight loss approach is to limit the amount of food consumed and the resulting number of calories. With the low carb diet, the emphasis is placed on not how much we eat, but rather how much you want to eat. This is where the difference lies between the two dieting methods. Simply put, it all boils down to attempting to limit the supply of food to the body versus altering the body’s demand for food. Perhaps a fine distinction, but it really gives you dramatically different results!
Why Traditional Low Calorie Diets Fail
Looking at the low calorie diets, one gets the sense that you are fighting nature (the urge to eat). It just isn’t natural. Advocates of this diet method generally support the concept of starving your system by eating less, therefore consuming fewer calories. The truth is that this may work for a short while, but your body will eventually fight back. You may start experiencing the following health issues:
- Inability to concentrate
- Uncontrollable food cravings
- Overwhelming fatigue
- Constant feelings of hunger
- Irritability & depression
Of course, you have probably heard about the few dieters that were able to tough it out through sheer will power alone. However, these individuals are the exception while the vast majority gives into their bodies’ craving for more fuel (carbohydrates).
What is the Alternative?
The truth is if you can make your body require less food, while burning body fat for energy, you will lose weight, and lose it fast. This is the premise under which the low carbohydrate diet was founded. And as an added natural benefit, you will lower your caloric intake by default as you follow a low carb diet meal plan.
This method of dieting will result in your body feeling satisfied, even with the reduced level of food consumption. You will begin to work with your body instead of fighting its natural tendencies for consuming and storing more and more fuel. High protein low carb diet research reveals that people that respond positively to this diet avoid the sensation that their bodies are constantly craving more food.
So, isn’t it about time that you take the smart approach to dieting and “go with the natural flow” instead of fighting the forces of nature? I did and it has made my life, and diet experience, a lot more pleasant (my husband appreciates it too!)
